Tourism: growing internet figures // 2009-04-24
Andrew Pozniak Google expert gives lecture on the fast groundgraining of the online travel industry on the 29th April DigitFestival. It is not surprising that for so many years
the very successful low-cost airlines realise their reservations in 98% through the internet. The PhoCusWright details show elemental changes in the future:
in 2009 people will spend 253 billion Euros on holidays and tourism. 32% of the total spendings, 80 billion Euros worth travelling will be booked on the internet.
It means that online bookings will have much more cue in the future in tourism. On the most advanced European markets; United Kingdom will have the internet market-share
of 50% already this year, and the USA has already exceeded this figure.
